New BKK Skytrain Kiosks Enable On-the-Go Parcel Delivery & Returns Services
Bangkok. June 3, 2015. On June 8, 2015, ATT Bangkok and aCommerce will be re-launching a new collection and worldwide delivery service available at six major stations in Bangkok’s transit system, the BTS Skytrain. Project SKYBOX will offer competitive rates by utilizing local end-to-end e-commerce solutions provider aCommerce’s marketing and logistics services.
Emerging e-commerce shops using social media such as Facebook, Instagram, and Line to sell online will be able to use ATT SKYBOX’s convenient and cost effective express delivery services by using one of three “unlimited weight” package sizes. This will distinguish ATT SKYBOX from existing competitors such as UPS Mail Box Etc.
Further, ATT SKYBOX will allow customers to pay, collect, and return their online purchases from major e-commence marketplaces and brand websites at any of their BTS locations.
“With the BTS transporting around 650,000 people a day and the growing popularity of Instagram and LINE shops as a place for C2C commerce, our objective is to make e-commerce accessible to smaller sellers in Thailand,” said Phensiri Sathianvongnusar, Regional Operations Director at aCommerce. “If you are a young urban entrepreneur with a successful Instagram shop, you need a service that is not only affordable, but also accessible and complements your busy lifestyle. We hope that SKYBOX offers that.”
The success of similar services in the UK such as Doddle and eBay’s Collect Plus that both operate in train stations gives the two companies confidence that SKYBOX will be popular with Thai consumers.
“With the number of small shops opening in Thailand, they not only need a reliable service that will cater to their specific needs but also integrate into their hectic schedules. We want to make the BTS journey an easy and productive one,” said Apipat Lertritsirikul, CEO at ATT Bangkok.
How SKYBOX works:
- Pricing will be based on package size (S/M/L) as opposed to weight to keep rates lower than competitors
- Carrier selection and shipping fees will be calculated by ShipHawk, a shipping management software developed by aCommerce
- Parcels can be sent nationwide or worldwide by express or standard delivery
- For parcel collection, easy payment options include Cash on Delivery or the popular Rabbit Card where customers can collect Carrot reward points to redeem for discounts at retailers such as Baskin Robbins and McDonalds
- Full services includes express delivery in Thailand and worldwide, parcel collection and returns, as well as bill payments using the counter service available 6 days a week, closed on Sunday.
- 24/7 online customer support on popular social platforms such as Facebook, LINE, Instagram offered (LINE ID: attbangkok)
How SKYBOX will work: Select, pack and send your parcel in one of the three available sizes.
ATT SKYBOX powered by aCommerce aims to bring convenience not only to the growing new age entrepreneur but also for the busy individual who wants a simple and convenient way to send a package. ATT Bangkok hopes to expand their e-commerce centric kiosks to another 10 BTS stations by the end of the year. They are currently located at Mochit, Ari, Victory Monument, National Stadium, Thonglor, and Chongnonsi.
