70% of Wholesale Brands to Move Towards Direct-to-Consumer Model
As crowded consumer goods landscape makes it harder to reach shoppers
‘Direct to consumer interaction is growing and it is critical in today’s highly-competitive global economy that consumer goods companies take advantage of every touch point with the consumer.’ – Oracle
Deloitte research suggests that over the next year, more brands will adopt the DTC model as they become aware of the benefits: more control over price structures and rich data about consumer habits. Even for established brands with retail locations, a digital platform will complement their markets beyond local trade area especially when individual retailers can control up to 80% of the market, creating significant negotiating power and heightened risk for supplier brands.
