Get to know the #aTeam – Armie Mondragon, Head of Marketing, Philippines

aCommerce is a regional ecommerce enabler, providing full service ecommerce solutions to over 260 brand clients such as Samsung, Unilever, Nestlé, L’Oreal, Philips and Mars. Founded in June 2013, the company has over 1,400 staff in offices across Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

What is your favorite part about working at aCommerce? 

aCommerce is a fun and innovative place to work at. It is an end-to-end ecommerce enabler and the first verticle system to setup in Manila offering innovative solutions to brands looking to make a move online. The teamwork culture here really enhances the work experience.

If you had one superpower, what would you choose?

Chronoportation – mind’s super power to travel back or to the future!

What was your experience when you started working at aCommerce Philippines?

I joined aCommerce a little over a year ago as a Marketing Manager, my first full-time job again after becoming a mom of two. I was worried about flexibility and stability but aCommerce management has been very supportive. They are more results-driven. Before that, I was working as a consultant for different local startups and regional brands and companies. It was pretty challenging in the beginning and I was insecure as most of my experience came from traditional marketing. Although I am a certified digital marketer, working here made me realize that there are many technical aspects associated with marketing, not just digital or social media. Our senior analysts in the Philippines and across the region, who had much more experience than me were very helpful in familiarizing me with the ways of how aCommerce marketing works. I learned a lot from Quito San Agustin, aCommerce Philippines CEO, who was very supportive in helping to build up a strong clientele and marketing team. Even the regional marketing team and Sheji Ho, aCommerce Group CMO was very helpful and guided us for the Philippines projects.

In my role as head of marketing now, I am equipped with in-depth knowledge and experience in managing and setting up brand, retail, and merchandising systems. We don’t only pitch our services to clients but also present to them a 360 degree marketing brand campaign that includes performance marketing with offline marketing components, which will help them reach set KPIs based on their objectives.

Do you have any advice/tips for new joiners?

There’s never a dull moment here because you get to learn something each day and you get to meet many friendly and humble folks of aCommerce. Our workplace is very dynamic. I’d say try to be flexible, work as a team player, and embrace challenges – as it opens up the door to develop or discover your skills. You can define your growth, by increasing your value as you develop your skills. Have a work-life balance, work hard, party harder!

What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned in the past year?

Teamwork begins by building trust, and great things are never done by an individual. #ateam #leanonyourteammates
