Arvy joined aCommerce over four years ago as the Internet Marketing Manager in Indonesia. As growth and career development is an important factor at aCommerce, he had the opportunity to head the marketing team in the country in less than two years. In addition to great skills in digital marketing, Arvy also has the hidden talent of breakdancing and wishes he had the superpower to mind-read! Find out more about his experience below.
What is your favorite part about working for aCommerce?
aCommerce is like school where you get to learn so much except you also get paid. There is no other company that can provide as many challenges and learning curves as fast as aCommerce. People are also very helpful here, where newcomers will always feel welcome.
What are the core values of aCommerce that have connected with you?
Solve Problems! Most of the issues (especially in digital marketing) can be analyzed by data. Therefore, I highly recommend doing a thorough research on the problem first to fully understand the circumstances. After that, find out what caused the issue to emerge, and the most important thing is to then provide a solution to overcome the problem.
Follow these simple 3 steps: What is the problem? Why did it happen? How to solve it?
If what you have been doing shows good results, keep doing it (or even replicate it). If what you have been doing shows bad results, then stop doing it (take it as a learning).
Leaning on your teammates is also important to bridge the communication gap between the internal team and the customer needs. As the Head of Marketing Planning & Strategy, I have to lean on the marketing operations team and vice versa to make sure the project is executed efficiently to best serve the client.
Any advice for the those keen to join the company?
Be proactive and don’t be afraid to ask. Like I said, people are helpful at aCommerce. As everyone is quite busy with their own duties just quickly go up to them or set a schedule together if you need any assistance or have any questions. Don’t be shy!
What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned in the past year?
Always do your best, do more, and provide value.
If you can make one rule for the world that everyone’s going to obey, what would it be?
Do an act of kindness at least once a day.
